the Ryans take McCall

It's been almost a whole month since I last blogged, but since I'm a few days shy, I figure I'm not a complete blogging failure. Though I'm pretty sure my dad is the only one who reads my blog, sorry for my mia status. I thought about backtracking and catching you up on all that's happened since our anniversary, my last post, buuutt, that really just sounds like it'll take too much time and effort, so I'm just going to start fresh, offering you just a brief summary - I spent almost a week in Pocatello shopping and dining with my mom, camping with my dad, swimming with the family and getting in lots of Harper and Remi time. And, well, that's really the only thing you missed that was blog worthy.

So, on to the next event - the Ryan Family Reunion that took place this last weekend in McCall. The McCall reunion started awhile ago and I think was held for three years before there started being weddings and graduations each year that sorta took place of the actual reunion. This year, though, there was nothing of the sort, so we all met up for five days in the mountains on the lake. And it did not disappoint. We were short a few family members but still managed to create a small herd everywhere we went. The trip included dinner at the local pizza place, two days on the lake riding jet skis and paddle boards, wake boarding, building sand castles and enjoying picnic lunches, and a family scavenger hunt that took us all over town in teams capturing pictures for our judges. Also, lots of cookies and brownies and babies and talking and reminiscing and bonding and games and you know, fun all around.

^^ He wasn't a fan on day one, though I think it was mostly the lifejacket he was despising. We tried again on Saturday and had him sit between Stephen and I, which he much preferred, asking for "mo" every time we slowed down ^^
^^ Told you, despise. But, also, my rockstar husband on the paddle board ^^
^^ Cousin Spenser, who was the closest thing I had to a brother before I actually had brothers. He is one of my dearest friends who happened to marry one of the best gals around last summer so now it's like I get two of them! ^^
^^ Remi Ann, that face...! ^^
^^ Stephen and my Grandpa on the left, and Uriah not having it in our family picture on the right. Because, sometimes smiling is just asking too much. ^^
^^ Such pretty, pretty boys. ^^
^^ We're all hoping the one in the middle becomes an actual family member real soon. We approve, Carson! ^^
 ^^ Cookie thief! ^^
^^ Thrilled, obviously, for the umpteenth selfie momma was making him take ^^
^^ Papa, on the other hand, has the selfie perfected ^^
^^ Sisters floating by the shore. And just like every brother should, my dad threatened to tip them over every time they drifted too close to him ^^
^^ Our early morning family walk around the neighborhood saying "Ohh I like that about this house" and "we should do that to our house" because someday, in ten years, we'll be able to build or buy and stop with the renting and this no dishwasher business ^^
^^ Day two. Though we couldn't get a smile out of him, I assure you, he liked it ^^
^^ Stomping castles with uncle Spenser. He earned a spot right to Uriah's heart with that game ^^
^^ That girl I was telling you about that my cousin married last year that just makes my heart soar. Yeah, she's pretty great. ^^
^^ I can put Miss Remi Ann to sleep in five seconds flat. Not that she's a difficult baby or anything, but I'm going to go ahead and call it some sort of super power ^^
^^ How cute is that?! ^^
^^ I'm pretty sure it should be considered cheating for Stephen and his long arms to play a game of frisbee 500, but I'm not mad at all to say he won ;) ^^

And, that's that. Until next year, McCall.
